The Lodi City Council voted 4-1 to pass a revised street vending ordinance that removes the city's 25-permit cap, updates operational hours, and adds specific restrictions in Downtown Lodi. While city staff argued that removing the cap would help regulate the growing waitlist of vendors and curb illegal vending, Lodi Chamber of Commerce President JP Doucette noted that local brick-and-mortar businesses remain concerned about the city's ability to enforce standards against unpermitted operators, particularly in high-traffic commercial areas like School Street.
