Keeping Lodi Safe While Taking a Balanced Approach to Homelessness
Keeping Lodi safe will always be my highest priority. As your Councilwoman, I've worked alongside our Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works crews, neighborhood leaders, and community organizations to strengthen public safety, improve emergency response, and address the issues residents raise most often.
One of our biggest challenges has been homelessness. I believe we can be both compassionate and accountable. Those who are willing to accept help deserve access to shelter, mental health care, addiction treatment, job placement, and supportive services. At the same time, our neighborhoods, parks, businesses, and public spaces deserve to be safe, clean, and welcoming. That means enforcing our laws and addressing illegal encampments that negatively impact our community.
I've supported a collaborative approach that brings together the City, San Joaquin County, Outreach Ministries, the Salvation Army, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and many other partners. Together, we're creating real pathways toward treatment, housing, employment, and long-term stability while protecting the quality of life that Lodi families expect and deserve.
